i steer clear of set-in-stone rules. and while i appreciate traditions and classic style, i need not adopt it in totals. i like to mix and match, create a canvas of unique, take a risk, blend unusual elements together, merge the past with the future, add something extra to the seemingly ordinary, with the end result of loveable and anywhere-wearable styles.

the beginning

it all began in 2019.
rajvi vora, founder and protagonist designer, thought of an idea and decided to bring it to life.

margin.

the brand offers everything with #thatextraedge. from unique outerwear and separates to cool coordinated outfits, from hand embroidered accessories like brooches, belts, bags and ties to one-of-a-kind artwork made by hand.

the idea behind margin is to give you something different. away from traditions, systems or seasons. something with #thatextraedge. we want you to notice things in a way that they have never been seen before. we want to intuitively answer your needs, desires and comforts through every hand crafted creation. ultimately, everything at margin is made for you to be you whoever you are: boss, traveller, artist, inventor, nature-lover, dreamer, believer, a collector of all things cool.

margin’s story is filled with characters that are designed to bring out your unique personality and style. what we can promise is comfort, ease of wearing, pairing and always #marginspiring. what we love the most about margin is that it is a true reflection of the talent and craftsmanship that exists in india.

the middle

the word margin is derived from the tailoring word which refers to “something extra”. it is about the parts of life that are so often overlooked, and then transformed into things you will love. the ordinary made into the extraordinary. the basic with a dose of unique. things that are mixed and matched. anything but the usual.


we merge indian hand embroidery with contemporary style. we celebrate raw beauty, rare combinations and interesting silhouettes. we reimagine textures and make them the star of the story. sometimes we create something out of nothing and even call it magic.

but the real stars and magicians of this story are our team of karigars. it is because of them, their hard work and incomparable talent and skills that we have #thatextraedge. and we want #thatextraedge to be a part of your story too! we hope our brand gives you the #marginspiration you’ve been looking for to make your unique impact in this world.

unlike other fashion brands, we don’t separate or define our collections by seasons or trends. we call our collections “chapters” and we design and conceptualise them in a way that their appeal never ends. this means that every collection is adaptable to many moods, reasons, seasons, occasions and personalities.


words like “outdated” or “last season” do not exist in our story. whether it is chapter one from 2019 or chapter twenty that showcases ten years from today, the styles will be ever-relevant, and wearable, loveable and frameable, always.

i thought of margin from the perspective of making anything and everything look amazing but in a different way. to bring to your wardrobes that "one piece wonder" that can last across seasons, trends and styles. i wanted to present different accessories from the ones we are all used to. and keep innovating along the way. most importantly, i wanted to showcase india’s incredible craftsmanship, and that is why hand embroidery takes centre stage in our story.


i am continuously inspired by my childhood, my muses, my travels around the world, my experiences — both big and insignificant — and my perception of yours. margin is multi-faceted and offers you a world of discovery through stories and characters never seen before. i hope you enjoy every bit of your journey with us! and i hope you find #thatextraedge you’ve been looking for.

every word you see is written by me. i am margin’s personal storyteller, caption writer, gift note creator — the anything writer.

i love writing about fashion, food, travel, beauty, luxury, entertainment, wellness, interiors, weddings — you name it. i am also obsessed with fonts and i have an in-built creative aesthetic — when i write i also visualise. i believe both things go hand in hand.

i created margin’s logo and brand identity in a way that it would be different, yet memorable. the intention was for it to appeal never-endingly, in india and internationally. i knew margin will go big places. so i designed their identity keeping that
in mind.


i love how design has the power to touch, move and inspire, when done well. i love the kind of design that evokes an emotion from people who interact with it. it could be something unexpected, or even something relatable.
